   Introduction to the Master of Music Department of National Taiwan University of Arts.

1.       Educational goals: In order to further cultivate musical talents, the Department of Music has established a master's program in the Department of Music since 95 academic year.  Set up an in-service master's program in the Department of Musicology, and integrate complete teachers. In the sound department structure of the school, the inter-departmental teaching and performance cooperation have become the characteristics of the department.  The master program is divided into seven groups: composition, keyboard, vocal, string, wind, percussion and conducting.The development direction emphasizes the cultivation of professional creative ability and performance ability on the basis of a solid academic foundation, expanding the horizons of personal works, and strengthening the study of professional research methods and skills.  The department is equipped with a graduate research room, audio-visual center and library with rich collections, which are conducive to the needs of graduate research.  In addition to cultivating more professional musical abilities, it also integrates the literacy of humanistic experience, enriches students' own connotations and develops personal characteristics, and constructs a music education environment with professional characteristics, in order to create real musicians and actively communicate with the world, and gradually move towards the international stage.

2.       Features of the Department (1.) The master program of the Department emphasizes the training of performance skills.  (2.) Improve the cooperation between creation and music theory research.  (3.) Provide training in performing graduate students in diversified performance practices.  (4.) Opportunity to guide the music creation and publication of master students in the composition group.  (5.) To train students' independent research ability in music academics, strengthen their methods and spirit of professional judgment, explore music performance skills, and the interaction between humanities and music creation.
